Four fifths of Slovak PoS support contactless payments in Q1

In the first quarter of 2014, only about 50 percent of payment terminals in Slovakia supported contactless payments but by the first quarter of 2016, 80.5 percent of retail terminals did so, reported MobilMania.sk. It is highly probable that the number will grow in the second quarter, too, as banks continue replacing terminals. Despite the popularity of contactless payments in the country, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay, which can replace traditional credit and debit cards, are not available in the market.
