Foxconn builds cloud-based R&D centre in Taiwan

Electronics manufacturer Foxconn is constructing a cloud computing centre in south Taiwan. The research and development centre is expected to be completed by the end of 2013, the Digitimes reports. The facility will be a cloud computing R&D base for the Foxconn Group, and will support development of terminal devices and software, big data computing, HTML5-based apps, security monitoring software, internet of things, energy saving systems, and mobile e-commerce platforms.
