Foxconn (Hon Hai) sells some of its patents to Google

China-based global components vendor Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) announced the sale to Google of part of its patent portfolio, including a technology to super-impose virtual and real photographs, Reuters reports. This so-called 'head mounted display' technology is generally used in aviation, geography, scientific modelling, engineering, videogames and simulators, states Foxconn. Hon Hai said it sold some of its patents to focus on developing new technologies, IP and e-commerce to reduce its depence on Apple. The transaction value was not disclosed.
