France asks SVoD platforms to invest over 20% of French revenues in European productions

French minister of culture Roselyne Bachelot has spoken to Les Echos about the long-anticipated reform that will require Netflix and other SVoD platforms to contribute to national and European content productions. A draft decree has now been finalised and the text is undergoing a public consultation process. Under the new rules, the platforms will have to invest between 20 to 25 percent of the annual revenues generated in France.
