France completes clearance of 700 MHz spectrum for mobile services

Friday 5 July 2019 | 08:26 CET | News
France has reached the conclusion of the clearance process to make 700 MHz frequencies available for mobile broadband use. Spectrum agency ANFR and infrastructure operator TDF confirmed that the band is no longer used for terrestrial television services. The migration to free up the frequencies started in the Ile-de-France region back in April 2016. It then progressed across different parts of the country based on a timetable consisting of thirteen separate phases, from October 2017 through to June this year.
