France folds various programmes into new Digital Agency

The French government has published a decree creating the Digital Agency, a national body to promote the use of digital technologies across the country. It has been formed with the intention of strengthening three previously separate missions, the Very High Speed fibre rollout, the French Tech programme for startups and innovation, and the Internet Uses Delegation to train and support people's takeup of digital services. The new agency is meant to deliver a global approach to the digital economy. Its director will be named in the next few weeks.
