France has nearly 25,700 LTE cell sites in operation

French spectrum agency ANFR reports that 30,504 cell sites were authorised for LTE as of 01 December, of which 25,687 were in service. The overall number of sites rose by 2.9 percent month-on-month for all bands combined, with 22,107 sites authorised in the 800 MHz band (+3.7 percent in a month), 16,485 in the 1,800 MHz band (+5.5 percent) and 19,987 in the 2.6 GHz band (+2.3 percent). The number of sites in the 700 MHz band (available since April in selected areas) has risen to 477, representing a 7.7 percent increase month-on-month.
