France launches EUR 20 million tender for city NFC projects

The French ministry of economy, finance and industry has launched a call for NFC projects. It is backed by a EUR 20 million budget and intended to support between 20 and 30 projects to deploy mobile services useful to residents of large metro areas in their everyday lives. Examples include the use of contactless cards or NFC-enabled mobile phones to purchase and validate public transport tickets, to access public services more easily or to discover enriched local information on museums and local events.
