France launches 'Metropole French Tech' clusters label

France's digital economy minister, Fleur Pellerin, and its general commissioner for investment, Louis Gallois, have launched a new label, 'Metropole French Tech', aimed at cities that seek to mobilise and unite local tech start-ups and established companies into clusters which within a few years can gain international recognition for their entrepreneurial dynamism. Formerly called, 'Quartiers Numeriques', the clusters project is open to candidate cities that already have a start-up and innovative SME ecosystem recognised at the national level.
