France raises EUR 936 million from 2.6 GHz LTE auction

French regulator Arcep has sold four lots of 2.6GHz spectrum for EUR 936 million, compared to their reserve price of EUR 700 million. Orange Frame will pay EUR 287.12 million for 20 MHz, Free Mobile EUR 271 million for 20 MHz, Bouygues Telecom EUR 228.01 million for 15 MHz, and SFR EUR 150 million for 15 MHz. All operators have made a commitment to host MVNOs on their networks. Licences to offer 4G services with a data rate of at least 60 Mbps over the additional spectrum will be issued in the coming weeks. Arcep has still to determine each operator's position on the 2.6 GHz band. The
