France seeks 'flexible' workforce to meet employer needs

France should fight its 10 percent unemployment rate through better training, according to government think tank France Strategie. Report co-author Antoine Naboulet told Les Echos, "Our comparative diagnostic found no necessary trade-off between the quantity and quality of jobs. Which runs counter to the idea that France has more joblessness but a better quality of employment." Helene Garner added, "Initial and continuous training must evolve to allow people to be employable for the length of their life." This will require preparing more flexible candidates in tandem with the government's
