France Telecom staff survey confirms social tension

France Telecom has received the first conclusions of a questionnaire on working conditions sent by consultants Technologia to the group's 102,000 customers in France. The procedure was put in place after the company experienced 32 staff suicides in two years. The over 80,000 workers who answered the 160-question survey revealed a tense working environment blamed on management shortcomings and adjustment difficulties for public sector workers after the company privatised. Only 39 percent of staff said they were proud to be part of France Telecom, down from 95 percent five years ago. France
