Franhofer Institute to present new high-speed link in Munich

The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS in Erlangen will present its new high-speed link at the electronica event in Munich, set to take place on 11-14 November. Scientists from the German institute will use a 10+ Gbps physical layer for a simple twisted pair wireline data transmission, making it possible to transfer data at rates of 10 Gbps in real time. The technology uses a a simple, lightweight and inexpensive copper cable, combined with low power consumption and minimum latency. The layer consumes less than one watt for every transmitter/receiver pair and can transmit 10
