Fransat to air five World Cup games in 3D

French satellite TV service Fransat, a Eutelsat subsidiary offering access to the country's free SD and HD DTT channels to customers outside DSL areas, has signed an agreement with broadcaster TF1 to carry five World Cup matches in 3D. Fransat, which launched in June 2009, does not charge a subscription fee, but requires customers to have a satellite dish aimed at the Atlantic Bird satellite and to buy one of its set-top boxes.
