Free adds 154,000 net subscribers in first quarter

French triple play operator Free added 154,000 net subscribers in the first quarter, including 176,000 net new broadband customers. The Iliad subsidiary had 4.15 million broadband customers at the end of March, compared with 3.97 million at the end of 2010. Some 22,000 of Free's new broadband customer migrated from smaller sister company Alice, whose broadband customer base shrank to 516,000 from 565,000 over the same period. Overall, Iliad raised the proportion of unbundled subscribers to 90.2 percent from 89.2 percent three months earlier. The group grew consolidated revenues by 1.1 percent
