Free founder sets up free IT school in Paris

French operator Free's founder, Xavier Niel, has announced plans to set up a tuition-free IT training institute in Paris that will accept 1,000 students a year to help France increase its pool of programming and creative talent, reports Les Echos. Called "42" in reference to the Douglas Adams' "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy", the school has an estimated launch budget of EUR 20 million, plus EUR 50 million of operating costs over 10 years. Niel will be investing his own money, but he aims to attract investment from companies. Candidates aged 18 to 30 will be preselected though online
