Free to launch new SDK for Freebox Player

French broadband operator Free announced that it will launch a new SDK for its Freebox Player STB, used with the Freebox V6 home gateway. The operator is looking for media apps, games and social apps. The SDK uses QML, described as a programming language halfway between CSS and Javascript. The first apps are expected to become available at the Free Store in the autumn. Free will run a developers' day on 13 September for the new SDK.
