Freenet TV launches DVB-T2 media blitz

German network operator Freenet has launched a media campaign warning viewers of the imminent shutdown of free-to-air DVB-T TV. As of 29 March 2017, Germans will no longer be able to view television programming via the DVB-T antenna connection, the campaign by Freenet subsidiary and DVB-T2 operator Media Broadcast warns. To continue watching broadcasts, viewers will require a new digital receiver to tune into DVB-T2. Freenet is encouraging viewers to upgrade early to avoid a last-minute rush on receivers. The first six DVB-T2 channels are currently available free of charge and in HD quality
