Freesat adds 24,000 customers in fourth quarter

UK TV operator Freesat added 24,000 home in the last quarter of 2014, taking its full year total to 56,000. The service is now available in more than 1.9 million homes and is watched by 4 million viewers a week. Freetime-ready boxes took a nearly 50 percent share of STB sales. Its mobile app has been downloaded almost 500,000 times, including those on a version launched in December 2014 for Kindle. Freesat, which offers over 200 TV stations and radio channels with no monthly fee, has benefited from the popularity of key programmes on the terrestrial channels. The top 500 most watched
