FreeTV Alliance to release remote control specification

The FreeTV Alliance, the broadcast industry association founded by the UK's Freesat, France's Fransat, Germany's HD Plus and Italy's Tivusat, has announced the availability of a remote control specification, the first of a broad set of technical specifications planned for release over the next 12 months. The Alliance said the remote control specification would be made available on its website within the next month and would provide a common way for an operator's mobile application to control the TV viewing experience on the TV screen.
