French body to advise on net neutrality, divide, taxes

France's digital economy minister, Fleur Pellerin, has asked national digital council CNNum to make recommendations on three topics: net neutrality, the digital divide and, based on a recent study for the government, internet taxation. The council's opinions will be used for the minister's digital roadmap, to be unveiled this month. The body will "study the effectiveness of the current legal framework to protect freedom of expression and communication between internet users".
