French channels drop plan for joint SVoD platform

Ongoing talks between Orange, TF1, M6 and France Televisions to offer a common VoD platform have failed, reports Les Echos. An draft agreement was written, but was never signed. "We all backed up by common agreement", Xavier Couture, who was in charge of leading the discussions for Orange, told the newspaper, citing market tests showing that it would not be possible to achieve profitability in the medium term.
