French consumer group sues Netflix over terms and conditions

French consumer rights association CLCV has sued Netflix in a Paris court for allegedly using abusive and illegal clauses in its contracts. Although the CLCV welcomes the launch of an innovative TV service that is prompting existing companies to review their range of services and prices, it finds that Netflix's terms of use, offered by a company based in Luxembourg, do not respect French consumer law. The body says Netflix can change contract conditions without informing consumers. Although consumers can cancel at any time, unless they are informed, they may be subject to new obligations
