French court asked to rule on mayors blocking base stations

France's highest administrative court, the Conseil d'Etat, has been asked to support the proposal that mayors' decisions concerning the installation of base stations cannot be substituted for those made by the ministry overseeing digital communications and the National Frequencies Agency. AFP reports that petition was made by the raporteur and follows decisions by the town hall of Pennes-Mirabeau and Saint-Denis to block deployments on health grounds and the precautionary principle. Both were later annulled by various administrative and appellate courts. The Conseil d'Etat has not indicated
