French economy ministry accepts Canal Plus ruling

France's ministry of the economy has accepted the competition authority's recent decision to impose obligations on Canal Plus in return for its acquisition of rival TPS, which contributed greatly to its pay TV market dominance. La Tribune reports that minister Pierre Moscovici declined to re-examine and possibly overrule the decision on the grounds that other priorities, such as industrial development, job creation or competition on the international stage were not harmed by the domestic competition decision.
