French fixed broadband market closes 2018 with nearly 9 mln lines above 30 Mbps

Friday 1 March 2019 | 15:13 CET | News
Growth in FTTH subscriptions continued to drive the upward trend in the French high-speed broadband market during the fourth quarter, according to Arcep's latest quarterly statistics. Across mainland France and the overseas territories, fixed broadband lines with a speed of at least 30 Mbps rose by 614,000 since September to 8.97 million (including FTTH, hybrid fibre-coaxial, VDSL and LTE-based fixed offers). New FTTH lines accounted for most of the increase, as net additions progressed to 486,000 (+379,000 in Q3), bringing the total FTTH base to 4.80 million (+47.5% year-on-year).
