French govt pledges EUR 1.5 bln 5-year investment in AI sector

French President Emmanuel Macron said that his government would spend EUR 1.5 billion of public funds to accelerate innovation in artificial intelligence. His speech at the 'AI for Humanity' summit coincided with the publication of a comprehensive report on the future of artificial intelligence in France by mathematician and member of parliament Cedric Villani.
