French govt wants stricter standard for radio frequency exposure checks

The French government announced an action plan in response to a recent report on the danger posed by radiofrequency radiation when mobile phones are carried close to the body. Published by health & safety agency ANSES, the report found no evidence of immediate high risk for smartphone users. However, it highlighted an area of concern around the standard used to measure the specific absorption rate (SAR) for the trunk body region.
