French LTE active cell sites reach 27,090 on 01 January

French spectrum agency ANFR reports that 31,180 cell sites were authorised for LTE as of 01 January, of which 27,090 were in service. The overall number of sites rose by 2.2 percent month-on-month for all bands combined, with 22,576 sites authorised in the 800 MHz band (+2.1% in a month), 17,261 in the 1,800 MHz band (+4.7%) and 20,381 in the 2.6 GHz band (+2.0%). The number of sites in the 700 MHz band (available since April 2016 in selected areas) has risen to 480, representing a 0.6 percent increase month-on-month.
