French mobile internet use grows 24% in 2012 - study

The number of mobile internet users in France rose 24 percent (23.6 million) in 2012, according to the latest study by Mediametrie. The number of internet users rose by 3 percent (41.2 million), and the number of iPad users by 138 percent (2.3 million). The year 2012 was important for France in terms of news, with the presidential elections pushing Twitter traffic to a peak of 1.4 million unique visits. The Olympics moved 5 million internet users onto the net on the day Teddy Riner won his gold medal. In the year to July 2012, the number of video users grew 17 percent, with time spent viewing
