French space agency picks Orange-led consortium for cloud data lake project

Orange Business Services has been selected to lead a new cloud-based data storage infrastructure project commissioned by French space agency CNES, with the aim to support science and encourage the emergence of new services. The Orange subsidiary will collaborate with industry partners including HPE, Scality and Tealenium, to deploy, operate and maintain a centralised repository, or "data lake", capable of hosting up to 100 petabytes of satellite-generated spatial information.
