French spectrum agency calls for vigilance over stricter RF exposure standard

French spectrum agency ANFR is urging mobile handset makers to increase their vigilance over compliance with the specific absorption rate (SAR) limit set for the trunk body region. The alert coincides with the publication of a summary of radio frequency (RF) exposure checks carried out by the agency in 2017. Out of 69 phones tested, across 29 different brands, seven models were found to be in breach of the SAR limit set for the trunk body region (2 W/kg).
