French telecom retail sales fall 7.7% to EUR 38 bln in 2013

French telecom operators' retail revenues were down 8.3 percent to EUR 9.4 billion, excluding taxes, in the fourth quarter of 2013, an 8.3 percent drop compared with the year-earlier period, according to telecom regulator Arcep. For all of 2013, the market declined by around 7.7 percent to EUR 38 billion, accounting for the merger of France Telecom and Orange France. Mobile sales fell by 15.8 percent in the fourth quarter, compared to a year earlier, and full-year mobile sales decreased by 14 percent. Fixed telephony and internet revenues were down by 3.9 percent in the quarter and by 3.1
