French Telecoms Federation may have to shut down

The French Telecoms Federation (FFT) is in crisis following SFR and Virgin Mobile's decisions to not renew their membership, reports La Tribune. The two operators were acquired last year by Numericable, which left the FFT in 2010. The FFT also saw the departure of Free in 2009, which means its membership consists of Orange France, Bouygues Telecom and MVNOs such as Auchan, La Poste and Hub One. FFT president Pierre Louette, who is Orange's deputy CEO, told La Tribune, "If the FFT were to disappear, it would leave the authorities without an interlocutor representing the sector at a time when
