French union fears up to 10,000 call centre job cuts

French communication and culture union F3C CFDT has alerted the country's new administration to anticipated job cuts driven by increased competition since the lauch of the country's fourth MNO, Le Monde reports. On the eve of 5 June AGM of France Telecom-Orange, which is still 27 percent state-owned, the second-biggest France Telecom union after the CGT, said Free's low-cost model has disrupted the whole sector, with price pressures restricting wage growth and pushing towards off-shoring.
