FSMTC taps Xtera for Hantru-1 submarine cable system upgrade

Subsea fiber optic services provider Xtera has won a contract with FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC). FSMTC is a telecommunications services provider in Pohnpei, Kosrae, Chuuk, and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia. Under the terms of the contract, Xtera will upgrade the Hantru-1 submarine cable system between Pohnpei and Guam to enable FSMTC to meet the growing demand for broadband services.
