Funds team up on joint bid for PT Portugal - report

Apax Partners is planning to offer about EUR 7 billion for Oi's assets in Portugal in partnership with Bain Capital Partners and at least one other fund, a person with direct knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg. The private-equity funds are looking at the company's financial numbers in detail, aiming to match a proposal made by Altice, and are betting the Portuguese government would be in favor of their offer. The firms are considering raising debt to help finance the transaction. Brazilian operator Oi is seeking to get more offers for its Portuguese assets before deciding what to do,
