Gateway links up Botswana; plans links in Malawi, Mauritius

Gateway Communications has brought capacity from the SAT-3 submarine cable to Botswana securely via South Africa, IT Online reported. According to the ITU, internet penetration in Botswana was about 6 percent in 2011. Recent studies have concluded that improved internet capacity will positively affect the growth of the country's main economic sectors including mining, tourism and agriculture.
