Gemalto H1 revenues up 32% after SafeNet takeover

Gemalto reported revenues for the first half of EUR 1.499 billion, up 32 percent from a year earlier thanks to its acquisition of SafeNet, organic growth in payments security and positive exchange rate effects. On a pro forma basis for the SafeNet takeover, revenue rose 11 percent, and excluding forex effects, revenue increased 20 percent. Adjusted operating profit totaled EUR 160 million, up by EUR 39 million year-on-year, giving a stable margin of 10.6 percent. Gemalto said operational leverage gains in the period were offset by the rapid and significant currency variations and hedging
