Gemalto unveils 5G Sims

Thursday 21 February 2019 | 09:51 CET | News
Digital security specialist Gemalto has unveiled its new 5G Sims, an industry first, in order to meet operator requirements for the new generation of network deployments starting this year. The 5G Sims comply with the latest ETSI 3GPP specifications and Simalliance recommendations. The groups said the 5G Sim is the only system capable of securing 5G network access. Gemalto said the new Sims improve data privacy and seamless 5G global roaming, and that they are the first to add enhanced protection against hacking, in anticipation of future requirements.
