German ad revenues fall across media in 2020 - study

Net revenues from advertising in Germany fell year-on-year by 5 percent in 2020, across almost all media, mainly due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a study by the German Advertising Federation (ZAW) based, among other things, on surveys by the commercial broadcasters' association Vaunet. Revenues from advertising in the audio and audio-visual media declined by 5.8 percent year-on-year in 2020 to a total of EUR 5.67 billion. Audio and audio-visual media had a market share of 23.9 percent last year.
