German banks confirm plans for own m-payment service

German financial institutions have confirmed plans for an inter-institutional online payment method for the end of this year. The app will allow customers to use it in store and at online shops. The participating banks have founded a joint venture, the corporation for internet and mobile payments; Commerzbank, Comdirect Bank, Deutsche Bank and Postbank, as well as the association of private banks under the leadership of HypoVereinsbank, and the cooperative banks DZ BANK and WGZ BANK are part of this joint venture.
