German banks to launch own m-payment app - report

German financial institutions have announced plans for a mobile payment app in an attempt to force back companies such as Paypal, Wiwo.de reports. The app is said to allow customers to use it in store and at online shops as well as to transfer money to contacts from the phone. The credit industry, consisting of private banks, savings associations as well as cooperative banks, tries to compete with lower prices for online shop providers as well as with their independence, seeing as Paypal belongs to Ebay and Yapital is owned by mail-order house Otto. The first tests are planned to start ahead
