German cabinet introduces draft IT security law

The German Cabinet has proposed an IT security law as one of the first results of the implementation of the government's Digital Agenda. The draft law contains requirements for the security of critical information; providers of ICT infrastructures are expected to maintain a minimum standard of IT security and to report significant incidents to the BSI, the German Federal Office for Information Security.
