German cable internet growth outpaces DSL

Cable internet subscriptions are growing at a quicker pace than traditional DSL connections, a new report by DSLWeb has found. According to the DSLWeb Broadband Report Q3 2016, around 236,000 new clients signed on to broadband contracts in Germany in the third quarter of 2016. Of these, around 143,000 chose cable internet services, bringing the total number of cable subscribers to 6.95 million. DSL services, by contrast, saw just 93,000 new clients in the quarter, growing the total to 22.18 million.
