German Christmas sales start off better than in 2013

Wednesday 3 December 2014 | 15:20 CET | News
German IT association Bitkom predicts strong year-end business based on a recent 'Blitz survey'. Six out of ten companies (61%) report an improvement in sales compared to the previous year. More than every fourth company expects revenues to attain the previous year's level, and only ten percent mention declining business. Over a quarter (26%) of Germans plan to give or buy a tablet or a smartphone for Christmas, another Bitkom study found. Sixteen percent want a fitness tracker, 15 percent expressed interest in buying an e-reader and 14 percent would like a game console.
