German court refers Google/publishers dispute to EU court

The state court in Berlin is referring to the European Court of Justice a dispute in which German publishers are accusing Google of abusing its market power by refusing to pay them for displaying newspaper articles online. Germany's biggest newspaper publisher, Axel Springer and 40 other publishers had accused Google of unfair treatment and after their case was thrown out by a lower court in April 2016, they filed an appeal at the state court in June 2016.
