German device sales rise as consumer electronics sales dip

Revenues of IT devices such as smartphones, tablets and wearables have grown in Germany, as traditional consumer electronics continue to lose revenue, according to IT association Bitkom referring to forecasts by the European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) and GfK for this year. Smartphone sales are seen up by 7.3 percent to EUR 9.1 billion with 25.56 million sold devices, and are expected to set a new record this year.
