German e-commerce returns to growth in Q3

Online marketplaces in Germany still have the highest turnover with EUR 5.272 billion, even though this is declining, but multichannel retailers are catching up with EUR 4.393 billion in the third quarter, according to the German e-commerce federation BEVH citing a survey from market researcher GIM. The multichannel trade helped the total turnover from e-commerce to increase by 2.0 percent, after a decline in the second quarter of this year. While usually strong product groups, such as clothing and consumer electronics (respectively +2.5% and +23.6%) increased their turnover, book sales fell
