German FNA bans Bluetooth-enabled smart doll from sale

A children's doll enabled with a microphone, internet connection and Bluetooth device has been banned from sale in the German market by the telecommunications watchdog. The German Federal Network Agency has ordered the Cayla doll to be removed from retail trade and warned parents the toy poses a "danger" to children, after tests showed it had the capability to listen to, record and transmit conversations, making it an "unauthorised wireless transmitting device".
